This is the Home Page of the New Netherland Museum. The museum operates the Half Moon, a reproduction of the ship that Henry Hudson sailed from Holland to the New World in 1609. This site has information on the plank-by-plank replica which was created by the New Netherland Museum. Currently, there is a brief history of the voyage on "The History" page. Pictures, graphics, and other interesting information can be found throughout this site.

Important Legal Notice:
This is the official website of the New Netherland Museum and Replica
Ship Half Moon. The New Netherland Museum and Replica Ship Half Moon each use many volunteers and contractors performing vital tasks for the ship’s safety and operations. Please be aware that the New Netherland Museum and Replica Ship Half Moon will NOT be legally bound to honor contracts, arrangements, purchases that exceed $5,000.00 or ship’s appearance commitments unless agreed to in writing by the chairman Dr. Andrew A. Hendricks or vice-chairman, Thomas H. Wysmuller. This does not mean that we won’t honor obligations made in good faith by well meaning volunteers, mates, or our ship’s captain, and in fact, we almost always do so. But we are legally required to do so ONLY if the required signatures above are obtained. |
